Augusto Guerra attended the Georgetown University in Washington D.C. where he received his undergraduate degree and St. Mary's School of Law where he obtained his Doctor of Jurisprudence. Augusto began his career practicing International Trade Law with the U.S Department of Commerce in Washington D.C. At Commerce, Augusto provided legal counsel to the Assistant Secretary, on issues arising under U.S. and international law pertaining to Antidumping and Countervailing Duty, ensuring that investigations were conducted legally, while positioning cases for potential appeal. Augusto garnered extensive litigation and appellate experience taking cases before U.S. Court of International Trade and Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, Bi-nationals Panels formed under the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), and World Trade Organization (WTO) Panels.

Augusto also gained experience providing counsel on export control matters while working for Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman, LLP, where he assisted companies in devising export control compliance programs and preparing both export license applications and classification requests.

After gaining valuable experience in Washington D.C., Augusto moved to Dallas to open his own law practice. In this practice, Augusto represented and advised individuals and companies in the areas of personal injury, contract law, family Law and civil litigation.
